Why Test Your Thyroid?

It is estimated that 20 million Americans have thyroid disease, and 60% of those who have it, may not be aware. Your thyroid is responsible for a number of functions in the body, including regulating your metabolism, producing hormones, and controlling your heart rate and muscle function.

Thyroid dysfunction falls between two main categories: underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) and overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism).

Symptoms of Hypothyroidism

  • Tiredness or overwhelming fatigue
  • Sensitivity to cold
  • Weight gain
  • Constipation
  • Depression
  • Muscle aches, weakness, or cramps
  • Dry skin
  • Brittle hair and nails
  • Hair loss or thinning hair
  • Irregular or heavy periods in females

Symptoms of Hyperthyroidism

  • Fatigue
  • Anxiety
  • Frequent bowel movements
  • Hair loss
  • Tremors
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Increased sensitivity to heat
  • Irregular periods in females
  • Racing heartbeat
  • Restlessness
  • Disrupted sleep patterns

It’s important to note that many of these symptoms overlap with other causes. Testing is the more effective way to determine the cause of your symptoms and take the next steps toward treating them.

How it Works

Healthyr uses microsampling technology to offer health tests that can be done in the comfort of your home. There is no need to visit a medical professional or lab– you collect your sample yourself using a simple finger prick.

Each kit will provide everything you need, including a lancet for the finger prick and an ADX card to apply your sample. Unlike traditional testing, only a few drops of blood are required!

The ADX card separates the blood solids from the blood plasma and once dry, you mail your sample to our lab. No need to visit the post office, just drop it in your local mailbox.

Once your sample arrives at the lab, your results are uploaded to your secure, HIPAA-protected online portal within three days.
Note: if you’d like to learn more, detailed sample collection instructions can be found on the instructions page here.

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)

What is it and how does it affect me?

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, or TSH, is produced by the pituitary gland and regulates the production of thyroid hormones by the thyroid gland. TSH levels are affected by a number of factors, including stress, diet, and certain medications. An imbalance of TSH levels may indicate an underactive or overactive thyroid, which can cause fatigue and diminish your ability to effectively exercise.

Feeling sluggish or tired all the time? Your thyroid could be the reason. Find out today with this easy at-home test.

Who is This Test For?

You feel tired or sluggish all the time.
Fatigue is a very common symptom of hypothyroidism, also known as an underactive thyroid. When the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone, the metabolism slows down and causes feelings of tiredness and exhaustion. High TSH levels can be an indicator of hypothyroidism.
You feel tired and wired all the time.
Hyperthyroidism is caused by an overactive thyroid, meaning the thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone. This increases metabolism and causes an initial surge in energy levels. Over time, however, this can result in exhaustion. People with hyperthyroidism often experience disrupted sleep patterns and insomnia despite feeling exhausted, further exacerbating the problem. Low levels of TSH may indicate hyperthyroidism.

About Our Labs + Science

Accuracy + Reliability

Our tests use an accurate and reliable form of microsampling called Dried Blood Spot Testing.
This form of testing has been used since the 1960s in Neonatal care and for testing in remote locations. You may be familiar with the heel prick performed on newborns during their initial health assessment– this is Dried Blood Spot Testing. We use this same technology and have expanded it to accurately assess a wider range of diagnostic biomarkers to be able to provide reliable health assessment that is more convenient, accessible, and affordable.

Lab Safety + Sterility

Our state-of-the-art lab is CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited. We pride ourselves on our use of validated and reliable testing methods as well as our stringent quality control measures.

If you would like to learn more about our lab processes and accreditations, click here.

Privacy + Security

Healthyr adheres to strict privacy and security measures to protect your personal health information. Our technology has encryption and safety protocols in place and every employee, from customer service to CEO, is trained in HIPAA compliance.
